4 Things You Should Know Before Going to the Golf Course

If you have just started thinking about playing the game of golf, your friends must have told you that you have to acquire excessive information about the game before you lay your hands on the golf club. Some things might sound overwhelming, but there nothing to get intimidated. Booking the tee time

If it is your first instance of playing golf in a golf course, do not forget to book a tee time in advance. You can either book them through a call or online. The tee timing is the time when you plan to hit the course, and not what time you reach at the golf course. Also, it is important to reach the golf course at least 30 minutes prior to the start of play. This will give you ample of time to get to your cart and get other things in place. Thus, you will be able to take your tee shot without hassle.

The choice of right clubs

It is always appropriate to take the right equipments to the course and follow the golf etiquettes. Your golf bag can accommodate 14 clubs. So how do you decide which clubs you should take along with you? You can begin with a putter, a driver, a sand wedge. You can also add an 8-iron, a 6-iron, a pitching wedge. If you still feel that you need more clubs, you can take a fairway wood. Even a fairway hybrid is also a good option these days. The hybrid clubs are capable of hitting a variety of shots.

The choice of right clothing

Some golf clubs have stringent rules for clothing and other things. You must enquire in advance from the golf resort you have booked about these rules. You can also ask the resort management to drop you an email regarding the same. When you get to know the rules and etiquettes, you must follow them. If you do not want to buy all the new stuff just for one vacation, borrow them from your golfer friends.

Pack extra balls and tees

You would not like to face the embarrassment at the golf greens if you run out of balls or tee. Golfers often lose tees and golf balls at the golf courses. That is absolutely fine. But, just be prepared for such situations and pack ample of extra tees and balls.
